The children's choir will feature about
50
lovely boys and girls, who bring to you two of the most famous poems of
all time in China.
The first poem titled "Yong e"
(meaning ode to the goose)
was written by Luo Binwang (640-684 AD) at the age of seven. The brilliant
young poet described the playful goose in this way:
Goose, goose, goose,
Curving its neck singing to the sky,
The white feathers afloat upon the green waters,
Red palms are paddling the clear wave.
The second poem titled "Spring
Morning" was written by one of the best naturalist poets in the Chinese history, Meng Haoran (689-740 AD). Meng was amazed by the beauty of spring
morning, and yet he raised a mystical question:
Asleep, senseless of spring morning,
I heard birds everywhere singing,
The stormy night made so much noise,
How many flowers dropped, who knows?
