Ancient Dance:
Ta Ge (踏歌)
Ta Ge dance has a long history in China; it can be traced all
the way back to the Tang Dynasty. Tang Dynasty was one of the
most prosperous periods in the Chinese history. Dancers in
that era performed for the royal families. The costumes used
for Ta Ge dance feature uniquely designed long sleeves. This
is a love song about a man and a woman. With beautiful moves and
music, dancers demonstrate how intimate lovers are, and how
hard it would be to separate them. "If you were cloud, I
would be a bird in the cloud, if you were water, I would be a
blooming water lily in the pond." Please enjoy the beautiful
music and unforgettable dance!
