History has been made by NEWCA
Dear NEWCA Members,
We just made a history!
All six of us in the NEWCA
Preparation Committee are so proud to be Chinese today. The one hundred plus
actors and actresses have represented our great Chinese culture with such an
impressive array of talents, beauties, arts, and most of all, loving hearts.
First of all, on behalf of
NEWCA Preparation Committee, I would like to congratulate all of our actors,
actresses, and technical staff for the great success they brought to our
Chinese community. The numerous hours of designing, preparations, practices,
and rehearsals have finally paid off. You don’t need to guess: the loud and
warm waves of applauses from the audience said it all! The great turnout
said it all! The smiling faces said it all!
Secondly, we would like to
express our sincere thanks to all the parents, spouses, and children of our
performers/staff for their family support for their love ones’ involvement
in show preparations. It’s impossible for us to list all the names, but your
contributions will be remembered by all of us in the valley area.
Thirdly, we also would like
to thank those who attended our celebration today. Your presence meant a
great deal to us. Your involvement in the Chinese community activities
showed your love for our great tradition and enduring heritages. Yes, this
is the first-ever historical event in the Fox Valley , and you were the
witnesses of this great accomplishment of our fellow Chinese and Americans.
It’s the time to celebrate,
and let’s welcome our Year of Boar with an open arm.

2007 New Year Party (NYP) will be a new beginning for NEWCA.
We
were just invited by the Northeast Wisconsin Families with Children from China (NEWFCC)
to perform at the prestigious Performing Arts Center (PAC) in Appleton on
January 28, 2007 (Sunday afternoon). These purely Chinese performances at PAC
will be the first in the Fox Valley area, and will be a highly publicized
ticketing event open to general public. All of our association members will have
discounted tickets to attend the shows. This is a great opportunity to not only
enjoy the high-quality programs in a state-of-the-art arena, but also connect
with other community members and showcase our rich and colorful Chinese culture
and great traditions to American friends.
Our annual potluck for NYP will be on February 17 of 2007 (the New Year Eve
based the Chinese Calendar, details to be announced).
Please contact me before December 5th,
1)
if you have sons or daughters who have been trained in violin for more than five
years, and they are willing to join a group of equally talented Chinese youth to
perform Chinese masterpieces at a grand stage;
2)
if you have daughters who are between 12 and 16 years old and are willing to
learn, practice and perform Chinese dances;
3)
if you have children who are willing to learn, practice and sing Chinese songs
in front of the largest crowd that they have ever seen;
4)
if you are, or you know anyone who is, a master of any Chinese music
instruments.
Please note that we need your help as well as your commitment in the next two
months. Dependent upon the specific shows you or your children participate, your
commitment to strict training and practices is absolutely essential to the
success of the whole event.
You will be very proud of yourself once you see how your hard work and great
performances are appreciated by your fellow friends in the community.
Let’s hold this historical opportunity. Thanks for your participation.
